HOME / KS Certification / Overview KS Mark Certification System indicates that the quality of products with the level of KS standards shall be guaranteed by the government if the products are produced by the company equipped with stably and continuously producible system. In other words, the system is intended to encourage continuous improvement of the quality and enhancement of production efficacy, provide products with the quality demanded by consumer in a proper price, protect safety of consumers and environment, induce healthy consuming life, maximize the economic efficacy, ultimately contribute to development of the national economy. For example, a producer manufacturing the designated mining and manufacturing products or using processing technologies introduced the Quality Management Act for 3 months or more and was decided to have an ability to produce products with the level of KS standards for the relevant items continuously. When the relevant company applies a certification to a professional certification institute at its discretion, the institute evaluates whether the certification is granted and provide the KS Mark Certification. This KS Mark Certification is provided in a factory or a business office. If a business proprietor has multiple factories or business offices, he/she shall acquire certifications by each factory or business offices. Therefore, the producer acquiring a certification shall produce KS Mark products in the place written in the certificate. Classification Designation Criteria Mining and manufacturing products 1. An item to indicate its conformity to KS standard for consumer protection as its quality cannot be identified easily 2. An item affecting largely other industries as a raw material 3. An item worrying significant deterioration of the quality due to monopoly and oligopoly or fluctuations in price Processing technologies of mining and manufacturing products 1. A processing technology achieved at the level of technology designated in the standard 2. A technology available of enhancing the quality or productivity by applying the relevant processing technology
